About Us

I know it's long, but please do read the following...!
The Borzoi is a very rare breed in the islands and we are thrilled to announce that our AKC-registered litter of 9 Borzoi (aka Russian Wolfhound) puppies was whelped at our home on the North Shore of Oahu, February 8th, 2012!  We have six beautiful boys and three gorgeous girls in the litter.
In case you missed it, I did a blog posting back in January where I covered some interesting points about the breed and what you can expect as a Borzoi owner.  I strongly encourage all interested parties to read this post!  Please click here!
We are very proud of the temperament & personality, health, and exceptional representation of the breed exemplified by the dam and sire, and we are equally confident that this litter carries these traits and more.  The puppies and both parents have all been lovingly raised in our home.  We are looking for responsible pet owners who can provide equally loving "forever homes" for these pups.  The puppies will be old enough to go to their new homes in early April, after they are at least 8-weeks old.
Please note that we are presently negotiating with potential new-owners for some of these babies, so check with us to see if the particular pup you are interested in is spoken for!  I’ll try to update the website ASAP after we have accepted a deposit and a particular pup is no longer available.
The health of all puppies will be cleared by our veterinarian as terms of the sale and puppies will come with a written health record including dates of vaccinations and worming. We will also include a written health guarantee insuring that you can get your money back within 72 hours if your vet declares your puppy to be unhealthy.
Along with your new pup, you will receive a three generation pedigree certificate issued to the litter by AKC.  AKC registration application papers will be provided with the sale of each puppy.  Granting of breeding rights will be considered if circumstances warrant it.
The best interest of these puppies is paramount to everything else.  As a way of ensuring the best future for our puppies, we will draw up a puppy sales contract that clearly establishes our health guarantee and each party’s expectations and responsibilities concerning the lifetime of the dog.  We encourage potential buyers to consider the contract carefully, ask questions, and engage us in discussion!  (We're not dog-snobs, I promise!  We're just doing our best to be responsible breeders.  We've poured our hearts and souls into these puppies and want the best for them!)  Points in our standard contract, including the spay/neuter agreement may be negotiable.  When all parties are clear and in agreement on these points, we will have laid the groundwork for the ideal future for your new dog!

A quick note about our breeding of these dogs...
We are only planning to breed Pali and Hana this one time.  We went through a long, arduous, expensive process to get our two borzoi out to Hawaii.  We wanted to spare others from having to go through that to have one of these amazing dogs.  It is our hope to create a more established borzoi population in Hawaii.  What's paradise without borzoi to share it with?

And a quick note about who we are...
We're Marc and Jamie.  We love our dogs, love to surf, love to hike, love sharing our lives with eachother and our dogs in this incredible place we call home.  Marc teaches high school math and surfs big Waimea, and I (Jamie) work from home as an environmental consultant and when I can, I also paint.  Working from home has afforded me the very-necessary opportunity to keep close watch over these puppies each and every day!

  2. Hi Marc and Jamie,
Your Borzoi are beautiful! Even more so that others because I think your Hana could possibly be the sister to my Pharaoh and Tsar. Their birthday is November 22, 2010 and came from Serendipity Sighthounds in Alabama. I saw that her birthday is November 22nd but the year could be different. Pharaoh looks so much like Hana (markings, color, facial features, even the ears sticking straight up). I'd love to find out if they are related - I'd be happy to send you pictures of our "boyz". Debra
